Sometimes I am weary of fighting to have my point of view understood and appreciated. There are a few people who often share the same feelings and outlooks on life as me, but they do not always. I don't like being in situations where someone doesn't understand (and doesn't try) to see things from my point of view. And I know that I don't always appreciate the opinions of others. This gets tiresome.
Even a best friend is going to have different interests and opinions than you. I know this is what makes life interesting and what makes the world go round. But sometimes I just like to be understood. I like to have my opinions and thoughts listened to...really listened to...and I like having the reassurance that the things in life I consider beautiful are indeed beautiful.
Jesus is the BEST best friend I could ever have. He is someone who completely understands the way I view something, even when I don't have the words to describe it. Jesus is crazy about me and my interests...He loves what makes me ME. He knows exactly what makes me smile and what I find beautiful in life. Like it says in Psalm 37:4...He wants to give me the desires of my heart! He knows me inside out, He knows what makes me tick. He created me with these particular likes and dislikes and treasures them! Even if it seems like no one else appreciates what I appreciate, there is always ALWAYS Someone who does! To me, the very best part about Jesus is that He is always there! He is someone I can tell my inside jokes to who will know all of them by heart. And He knows my sense of humor because He created it! How awesome is that?!
In the Garden
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses.
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing.
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
